Southern Distilling Company is seeking a dedicated and analytical Financial Analyst to join our team in the bourbon beverage industry. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Southern Star Sales Team by providing valuable financial insights, data analysis, and reporting. Your contributions will be instrumental in driving informed decisions and optimizing our financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis:
·       Conduct financial analysis to support the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
·       Analyze financial data, including sales performance, pricing strategies, and cost structures.
·       Prepare reports and presentations to communicate financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

Sales Team Support:
·       Collaborate closely with the Southern Star Sales Team to analyze sales data from VIP software at the distributor level, North Carolina, and National ABC data.
·       Provide insights into sales trends, market dynamics, and customer behavior to drive sales strategies.
·       Assist in evaluating the financial impact of sales initiatives and promotional activities.

Budgeting and Planning:
·       Assist the CFO in the development and maintenance of annual budgets and financial plans.
·       Monitor budget vs. actual performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
·       Participate in the preparation of financial models to support business decision-making.

Pricing and Profitability Analysis:
·       Evaluate product pricing strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring competitive market positioning.
·       Analyze product costs, margins, and contribution to overall revenue.
·       Collaborate with the Sales Team to assess the financial impact of pricing changes.

Data Management:
·       Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
·       Utilize financial software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
·       Implement data-driven solutions to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Ad-Hoc Analysis and Projects:
·       Undertake ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as requested by the CFO or senior management.
·       Provide recommendations and insights on financial decisions, investment opportunities, and risk management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and 3+ years’ experience in data analytics; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, ERP systems, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
