The Job
Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director, the FP&A Analyst will support the company-wide budgeting and forecasting processes and monthly analysis. This role requires ownership of developing and deploying processes, tools, and reporting, along with providing decision support and insights to functional business managers and leaders across the company. Additionally, the Analyst will work alongside the FP&A team in developing long-range plans, defining key metrics, and ad hoc financial and business analysis. 
 
This role is an integral position within the finance organization as they will interact with the various department and business line heads and FP&A team to provide insightful and actionable analysis to identify opportunities to improve process, efficiency, profitability, and productivity.
 
Hybrid: 3 days in office; 2 days remote.
 Responsibilities
  • Conduct analyses of financial and operational results to understand divisional and company performance, summarize key findings and make recommendations for new productivity and/or cost saving opportunities to executives and other key positions.
  • Develop and provide regular retail customer, sales and marketing analytics and recommendations.
  • Build models and conduct “what if” scenario analyses to identify alternative strategies to improve area performance.
  • Provide analytical support, business analysis, and financial modeling to the FP&A team.
  • Compile and analyze complex sets of data, identify trends, develop insights and recommendations, and present findings to business leaders.
  • Participate in monthly and year end close, in conjunction with the Accounting team.
  • Support the preparation of monthly reporting of comprehensive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and operational Dashboard reporting.  Monitor, analyze and interpret business performance, trends, budget and forecast variances. 
  • Conduct research to uncover key issues, benchmarks, and best practices and synthesize findings into recommendations for optimal business solutions.
  • Undertake special projects to support strategic initiatives within Finance and Commercial areas, able to deal with ambiguity and assist in the development of project objectives and requirements.
  • Ad hoc reporting and business planning projects as requested.
 
Requirements
The successful person in this position will be analytical, curious, highly organized, innovative, collaborative, and able to put complex ideas into clear frameworks to let the data tell the story. 
 
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field;
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a combination of Accounting, finance and/or strategic analysis, with a proven understanding of accounting, P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow; 
  •  Experience with Retail, Auction, luxury consumer goods, hospitality, U.S. wines and spirits industries, or Consumer Packaged Goods preferred
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI;
  • Experience with ERPs and Warehouse Management Systems. NetSuite experience a plus;
  • Overall business acumen; 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills;
