Job Description: Full Time
 
The Market Manager will be responsible for achieving all volume and distribution goals for portfolio of brands through all channels of trade. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing pricing and programming strategies.
 
 Key Account Management/Market Activities
·      Accountable for driving high quality distribution of Satryna/Kleos in identified target accounts both On and Off Premise and developing new prospects within assigned territory.  
o   Target account list to be developed by Market Manager, approved by brand, and contributed to by distributor.
o   Minimum 100 accounts(PODS) in first 6 months
o   Role is expected to visit a minimum 30 accounts per week 
  • Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to review our brand priorities, execute events to drive sales at account level, and train account staff on brand attributes and selling points, and run staff incentives.
  • Secure back-bar distribution, visibility and drive impactful menu/feature placements in target accounts to ensure consumer pull through and rate-of-sale.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining sustainable records of sales achievements/quotas and an organized list and plan for both on and off premise accounts.
  • Responsible for formal monthly reporting comprised of Account Tracker, and Qualitive Powerpoint presentation on respective market activity 
  • Stay up to date with online trends and opportunities within accounts for features, email blasts and newsletters.
·       Guide retail (off premise) accounts in effective merchandising through proper shelf management and brand visibility, and to ensure brand marketing materials and displays are utilized within your assigned account base.
  • Increase Satryna/Kleos brand quality perception by elevating our standards via best-in-class execution.
  • Ensure all sales practices are compliant with state & company policies/law
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders: trade, bartending community, distributors, gatekeepers, and local market influencers.
 
 
Distributor Management
 
·      Build, execute, and manage distribution programs with respective distributor.  Existing relationships with this distributor are a plus
·      Organize and implement a ride-with calendar for the year(2 minimum per month in different channels) to work hands on with distributor sales teams, and keep brand top of mind.
·      Pull and analyze monthly depletion reports to have deep insight on actual sales execution.
 
Budget/Financial
 
  • Annual/Quarterly budget planning 
  • Identify Ad Hoc opportunities.
  • Manage assigned budgets including incentives, travel & entertainment, and other departmental expenses.
  • Business Planning, Budget Planning – 3-6 months out; re-setting as needed to hit yearly sales KPIs
 
 
Education and Training
  • Conduct product education / samplings, educate store personnel/bartenders and consumers and complete post sampling recap
  • Develop and manage spirits master classes for key accounts and consumers, ensuring we are top of mind in the mixology/ bartending community and within our top tier accounts (both on and off-premise)
  • Participate regularly in distributor team and general sales meetings
 
 
Events & Activation
  • Help source consumer and trade events to generate trial and awareness of our brands, while appropriately integrating the appropriate brand messaging and experience
  • Set up and attend brand building promotions, on premise and special events (retailer & consumer samplings, brand launches, cocktail contests, pairings, etc)
  • Develop and promote specialty cocktails for brands, accounts, and PR efforts
 
Local Market Insights
  • Monitor and report competitive activity, brand movement, pricing, and distribution penetration and highlight opportunities to Marketing and Sales team
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Existing tequila/agave knowledge(SPIRITS) and network is required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Self-starting enthusiasm with can-do attitude
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Willingness to work full-time, non-traditional, late night hours as required and travel throughout assigned territory and occasionally beyond
  • Must be reliable, and possess a high level of work ethic to go above and beyond to accomplish goals
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and influence others (accounts, bartenders and distributor teams)
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record of achievement; people management a plus
  • Passion for artisanal spirits
  • Resourceful, creative and organized with ability to manage timelines, budgets and event logistics
  • Excellent communication and selling skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office Suite
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Physical capabilities necessary to complete duties of the job
  • Up to $100k+ earning potential in year 1
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Recognized credibility in local mixology / bartending community a plus
  • Distributor background
  • On/Off premise sales, marketing or promotion experience in the local market
  • Existing relationships with top luxury accounts in the local market
  • Clean driving record and good credit history
  • Driver’s License
